APPROVING GRANT APPLICATIONS TO THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT
DISTRICT (BAAQMD) FOR THE TOWN'S TRAFFIC SIGNAL COORDINATION PROGRAM,
AND THE PURCHASE OF AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE
WHEREAS, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) oversees the Transportation
Fund for Clean Air (TFCA), a grant program to assist in the construction of locally supported projects
that will reduce vehicle-generated airborne pollutants; and
WHEREAS, BAAQMD is accepting applications for TFCA for projects which will reduce air pollution
from motor vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville's Transportation Demand Management Program goals are to
reduce both traffic congestion and air pollution; and
WHEREAS, the proposed traffic signal interconnect project will improve traffic congestion and
efficiency by connecting more traffic signals to our existing traffic signal interconnect network; and
WHEREAS, the air quality and water quality will be improved through the use of alternative fuel
vehicles; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager is hereby authorized to submit,
on behalf of the Town, grant applications for the third, fourth and fifth subsystems of the Town's
traffic signal coordination program and one alternative fuel vehicle.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a Regular Meeting on July 16, 1996, by the following
vote:
