AWARDING CONTRACT FOR DIABLO ROAD AT WEST EL PINTADO/FRONT
STREET TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION,
CONTRACT NOo C-219
WHEREAS, the Town Council approved the call for bids for the Diablo Road at West E1
Pintado/Front Street Traffic Signal Installation, Contract No. C-219, on March 19, 1996; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated to cover the cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk did, in open session on May 23, 1996, publicly open and read
aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is Continental Electric, of Pinole, and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town awards the contract for the
Diablo Road atWest El Pintado/Front Street Traffic Signal Installation, Contract No. C-219,
to Continental Electric, of Pinole; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and
hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Continental
Electric for $121,898.05 plus a 10% construction contingency of $12,189.80 for a total of
$134,087.85 for work in connection with the Traffic Signal Installation - Diablo Road at West
El Pintado/Front Street project in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such
changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially
increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in
connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto
the official seal of the Town; and, be it
FLIRTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this
Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works Contract Award to the Department of
Industrial Relations, division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA
94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding the ratio of apprentices to
journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Decision of Apprenticeship Standards to
such findings.)
