HomeMy WebLinkAbout194-95RESOLUTION NO. 194-95 SPECIFYING BALLOT WORDING FOR THE REFERENDUM TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS ON MARCH 26, 1996 AND ESTABLISHING DEADLINES FOR THE SUBMITTAL OF BALLOT ARGUMENTS WHEREAS, on September 19, 1995, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 130-95 submitting the referendum against Town Ordinance 95-5 to the voters on March 26, 1996, authorizing the City Clerk to accept ballot arguments and calling for the County Clerk' s office to administer the election; and WHEREAS, the County Clerk has requested formal notification of the specific wording to be placed on the ballot; and WHEREAS, the Town Council must also establish the deadlines for submitting ballot arguments and rebuttals to the City Clerk; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville that the ballot wording to be submitted to the voters on March 26, 1996, shall read as follows: "Shall Town of Danville Ordinance 95-5 approving a preliminary development plan- rezoning (PUD 95-01 ) (APN: 206-010-050-Shadowhawk II, Kaufman & Broad), become effective?" and, be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that ballot arguments in support of and in opposition to the proposed ordinance shall be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 1996, and that any rebuttal arguments shall be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 1996.
