APPROVING AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT A TRANSPORTATION
ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES (TEA) FUND PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION WITH AUTHORIZATION TO
COMMIT 12% MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE DANVILLE
SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD DEPOT
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville, as the administering agency applicant in partnership
with the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, a California 501(c)3 public non-profit
organization, intends to submit an application for a Transportation Enhancement Activities
(TEA) program funds for the rehabilitation of the Danville Southern Pacific Railroad
Depot; and
WHEREAS, the TEA program is a Federal transportation funding program administered
by Caltrans and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville entered into a "Local Agency-State Agreement For
Federal-Aid Projects" on February 22, 1984, authorizing the Town of Danville to carry out
Federal aid projects for transportation enhancement activities; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission requires confirmation that the
Town of Danville will fund 12% ($46,000) of the project cost estimated to be $386,000 for
the rehabilitation of the Danville Southern Pacific Railroad Depot; and
WHEREAS, through an agreement with the Town of Danville, the ultimate source of
matching funds is the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, a partner in the Town's TEA
program application; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Town Council for the Town of Danville that the Town Manager is
authorized to submit a Transportation Enhancement Activity program fund application to
the Metropolitan Transportation Commission; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute,
on behalf of the Town, a written contract appropriating 12% matching funds ($46,000)
provided by the Museum of the San Ramon Valley for the rehabilitation of the Depot in
the form as lodged with the Acting City Clerk, together with such changes as may
hereafter become necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the
obligations of the Town thereunder; and be it
