HomeMy WebLinkAbout140-95RESOLUTION NO. 140-95 ENDORSING MEASURE C ON THE NOVEMBER 7, 1995 BALLOT WHEREAS, the Town of Danville desires quality neighborhood schools and equal educational opportunities for all students in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District; and WHEREAS, quality school facilities are essential to the economic well-being and the quality of life in the San Ramon Valley; and WHEREAS, many of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District school buildings are approaching 30 years old and are in need of rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, existing schools in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District are overcrowded and completion of the planned San Ramon Middle School and Tassajara Elementary School are required to provide neighborhood schools; and WHEREAS, all schools in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District need cabling and networking systems to provide access to 21st Century technology; and WHEREAS, the State of California has no funds for school construction; and WHEREAS, local funds are needed to build, rehabilitate and provide access to technology; and WI-IERF~S, Measure C will provide local funding without increasing local property tax rates; now, therefore, be it PAGE 1 OF RESOLUTION NO. 140-95 RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town of Danville hereby endorses Measure C, an $82 million facilities bond, on the November 7, 1995 ballot.
