APPROVING AN AMENDED ENCROACHMENT PERMIT AND RIGHT OF ENTRY
AGREEMENT WITH PACIFIC COAST FARMERS' MARKET ASSOCIATION AND
AUTHORIZING PARTIAL CLOSURE OF THE RAILROAD AVENUE PARKING LOT
WHEREAS, the Town has hosted a certified farmers' market in its Old Town business
district for the past four years; and
WHERF~S, the current operator of the farmers' market, Pacific Coast Farmers' Market
Association, has requested that the Town take the necessary actions to allow the
farmers' market to operate on a year-round basis; and
WHEREAS, the community and surrounding areas benefit from the availability of tree
and vine ripened produce; and
WHEREAS, downtown businesses benefit from additional shoppers attracted by the
market; and
WHEREAS, expansion to a year-round operation should expand the current benefits
to the community and surrounding areas and to downtown businesses; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that a portion of the Railroad Avenue Parking Lot shall be closed each
Saturday from 7:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. for the operation of a certified farmers' market;
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the
amended encroachment permit and right to enter agreement with Pacific Coast Farmers'
Market Association in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such
changes as hereafter may become necessary, provided that such changes do not
materially increase the obligations of the Town thereunder.
APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a Regular Meeting held on
December 6, 1994, by the following vote:
