HomeMy WebLinkAbout059-94RESOLUTION NO. 59-94 AUTHORIZING SUPPORT FOR PROPOSITION 180, THE PARKS AND WILDLIFE BOND ACT OF 1994 WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservation League has prepared the Parks and Wildlife (CALPAW) Initiative Bond Act which would allocate $1.9 billion for park acquisition, wetland preservation, trails, wildlife conservation, stream restoration, and acquisition of environmentally sensitive areas threatened by development throughout California; and WHE~, the 1994 CALPAW Initiative Bond Act includes $119,489 in funding for the Town of Danville in the Bond Act, as well as other potential funding; and WHEREAS, the CALPAW Initiative Bond Act also includes significant funding for other important park and recreation acquisition and preservation projects within California and creates thousands of jobs statewide; and WHEREAS, a coalition of community and conservation groups, business and labor, historic preservation and other organizations have undertaken a volunteer, community-based effort to successfully qualify the CALPAW Initiative Bond Act for the June 1994 State ballot; and WHERFd~, the Planning and Conservation League has requested support for the CALPAW Initiative Bond Act campaign from all organizations supporting projects included in the Bond Act; now, therefore be it RESOLVED that the Danville Town Council does hereby endorse and express its support for the 1994 CALPAW Initiative Bond Act.
