HomeMy WebLinkAbout104-93RESOLUTION NO. 104-93 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TOWN MANAGER OR CITY ATTORNEY TO PERFORM FUNCTIONS OF THE TOWN COUNCIL RELATING TO CLAIMS AGAINST THE TOWN WHEREAS, Part 3 of Division 3.6 of Title 1 of the Government Code of the State of California (Sections 900 et seq.) imposes certain enumerated duties upon this Council relating to claims for money or damages which are presented to the Town; and WHEREAS, Government Code, Section 935.4 permits this Council, by resolution, to authorize a Town employee or employees to perform the functions of this Council relating to such claims. Authorizing the Town Manager or City Attorney to perform said functions would relieve this Council of the burden of taking routine, repetitious action relating to such claims, which ensuring that each such claim will be processed in accordance with the requirements of law; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville that the Town Manager and the City Attorney are hereby authorized to perform all functions of this Council required or permitted by Part 3 of Division 3.6 of Title I of the Government code of the State of California and the Town Manager and City Attorney are hereby authorized to compromise and settle as the best interests of the Town of Danville may dictate, any and all claims up to a maximum of $10,000.00. APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, September 7, 1993, by the following vote: AYES: SHIMANSKY, RITCHEY, DOYLE, GREENBERG, LANE NOES: NONE ABSTAINED: NONE ABSENT: NONE CITY ATTORNEY ATTEST: CITY CLERK
