APPROVING APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO THE
BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF AN
ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE PILOT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill (AB) 434 is providing funding for reducing air pollution from motor
vehicle use; and
WltEREAS, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) has the responsibility
for the administration of said funds and setting up necessary procedures governing applications
by government agencies; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the BAAQMD require the applicant to certify by
resolution approval of application before submission of said applications to the district; and
WItEREAS, the district has deferred for a specified time said resolution approval in lieu of a
letter of intent from a governing official that an Administrative Staff Report recommending
approval; and
WHEREAS, said letter of intent has been accepted by the district, and the application contains
assurances that the applicant must comply with; and
WltEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with Solar Electric for the purchase of
an electric vehicle to be used in said pilot program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville that the Town Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for a grant under AB 434; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in the application form; and

Certifies that said agency shall perform all acts and obligations of the agency
under the application and the instruments and documents delivered pursuant
thereto; and

Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the
program; and
.
Certifies that said agency shall use the funds from the BAAQMD to develop the program
in accordance with the application; and
.
Certifies that said agency shall encumber the funds within two years of the date of
receipt;and
.
Certifies that Michael R. Hernandez, Administrative Technician for the Town of Danville
is appointed as program manager and is empowered to approve payments and
encumbrances from said grant funds.
APPROVED, by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on September 15, 1992, by
the following vote:
