APPROVING THE CREATION OF THE TDM COORDINATOR POSITION AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE POSITION WHERF~S, in 1988, Contra Costa County voters approved the Contra Costa Transportation Improvement and Growth Management Ordinance (Measure C), endorsing the idea of County-wide growth management efforts; and WHEREAS, Measure C will generate an estimated $6 million for Danville over the next twenty years in return to source funds for local street improvements and maintenance; and WHEREAS, cities must adopt a Transportation Demand Management Ordinance (TDM) Ordinance in order to receive Measure C funds; and WHERF~S, on June 19, 1991, Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) adopted a Model TDM Ordinance to guide county jurisdictions in the development of local TDM Ordinances; and WHEREAS, Danville must adopt its own TDM Ordinance by December 31, 1991; and WHEREAS, implementation of this Ordinance will require the creation of a part-time position which is not currently in the 1991-1992 adopted budget; and WHEREAS, staff estimates implementation costs of $15,000 per year that are not provided for in the adopted 1991-1992 budget; and WHEREAS, said implementation costs will be reimbursed from Measure C return to source funds; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the Town Council of the Town of Danville that the position of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Coordinator is hereby created, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT $7,950 be appropriated from Measure C return to source funds (account number 711-701) and transferred to the Building Divisions's Community Preservation Account (number 726-701) to fund the TDM Coordinator position for the balance of FY 1991-1992.
