HomeMy WebLinkAbout193-91 RESOLUTION NO. 193-91 APPROVING ADJUSTMENT OF THE 1991-92 FINANCIAL PLAN TO COMPENSATE FOR REDUCED REVENUES RESULTING FROM ADOPTION OF THE STATE BUDGET WHEREAS, The Town Council approved the 1991-92 Financial Plan in July 1991, prior to the adoption of the State budget; and WHEREAS, Adoption of the State 1991-92 budget resulted in a net decrease in Town revenue of $89,000 in the following areas: Reduction in fines and forfeitures: - $68,000 (50% of non-parking related revenue) AB 2181 - Extension of sales tax to candy, snack foods, newspaper and periodicals: + $10,000 Reduction in cigarette tax: - $31,000 Net Reduction - $89,000 and WHEREAS, the reduction in revenue can be offset by realizing employee salary savings in the following manner: Eliminate one Public Works Inspector position (currently vacant): + $ 51,300 Freeze vacant Associate Planner position: + $ 35,000 Delay in hiring new Maintenance Worker positions: + $ 8,700 Personnel Officer Savings (difference between budgeted salary and salary of new hire): + $ 4,000 City Clerk Salary (difference between budgeted salary and salary of new hire): - $ 10,000 Total Salary Savings + $ 89,000 now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville that the Town Council hereby reduces the approved 1991-92 Financial Plan as described above to compensate for reduced revenues resulting from the adoption of the 1991-92 State budget. APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a Regular Meeting held on October 15, 1991, by the following vote: AYES: Greenberg, Lane, Ritchey, Schlendorf, Shimansky NOES: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None Mayor APPROVED AS TO FORM: ATTEST: City Clerk
