RECOMMENDING THAT THE SOUTHWEST AREA TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
DESIGNATE SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD AND PORTIONS OF CAMINO TASSAJARA AS
ROUTES OF REGIONAL SIGNIFICANCE
WHEREAS, Measure C requires that jurisdictions and the Contra Costa Transportation
Authority (CCTA) jointly determine the appropriate measures and programs for mitigation of
regional impacts; and
WHEREAS, Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Tassajara between Sycamore Valley Road and the
easterly Town limits carry traffic from jurisdictions other than the Town of Danville; and
WHEREAS, these two routes, when considered along with the segment of Camino Tassajara in
unincorporated Contra Costa County meet the criteria established by CCTA for designation as
Routes of Regional Significance; and
WHEREAS, CCTA has established the Action Plan process for Routes of Regional Significance,
which focuses on establishing and maintaining acceptable roadway and intersection levels of
service for routes which are impacted by more than one jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, Action Plans will be prepared only for Routes of Regional Significance; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Danville requests that the Southwest Area
Transportation Committee designate Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Tassajara between
Sycamore Valley Road and the easterly Town limits as Routes of Regional Significance.
APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a Regular Meeting held on Tuesday,
September 17, 1991 by the following vote:
