HomeMy WebLinkAbout113-91RESOLUTION No. 113-91 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIl, OF THE TOWN OF DANVILI.E GRANTING PERMISSION TO CLOSE CERTAIN STREETS FOR FOURTH OF JUI,Y (:FA,FA~RATION OF JU1,Y 4. 1991 WHEREAS, the City Engineer, having recommended that Danville Boulevard, Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard from Del Amigo to Sycamore Valley Road be closed on July 4, 1991 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and WHERF~S, the Chief of Police and City Engineer recommend street closures on July 4, 1991 from one of the fbllowing sites (to be approved by the City Manager) to the Livery and Mercantile in order to land a helicopter and tow it to the Livery and Mercantile Center; 1) Park 'n' Ride site, 2) Navelet's vacant lot, 3) the intersection of Podva Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, 4) the Elworthy property on San Ramon Valley Boulevard, or other approved site, providing permission is obtained from the appropriate property owner; and WHEREAS, transportation of the helicopter will require a police escort to its destination and is planned to be on static display from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 4th of July; and WttERFa~S, the closures are subject to conditions set forth relative to parades in County Resolution No. 4714, including a requirement that the Kiwanis Club furnish a certificate of insurance ($5,000,000 combined single limit) and the Vietnam Veterans Club furnish a certificate of insurance ($1,000,000 combined single limit) with both insurance policies naming the Town of Danville as an additional insured; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED that Danville Boulevard, Hartz Avenue, San Ramon Valley Boulevard from Del Amigo Road to Sycamore Valley Road shall be closed to vehicular traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the streets between the helicopter landing site to the Livery and Mercantile shall be closed for 20 minutes when the helicopter lands and when it takes off on July 4, 1991.
