RESOLUTION NO. 88-91
APPROVING THE PHASE I MASTER PLAN AND NEGATIVE
DECLARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR THE
RENOVATION OF MONTAIR SCHOOL/PARK
WHEREAS, in 1990, the California State Legislature approved a $197,000 grant for the
renovation of Montair School/park; and
WHEREAS, Town Council adopted Resolution No. 70-91 approving the State Department
of Parks and Recreation Grant application; and
WHEREAS, Town Council adopted Resolution No. 71-91 appropriating $197,000 for the
renovation of Montair School/Park; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Parks and Leisure Services Commission has reviewed the Phase
I Master Plan for the Montair School/Park and recommended it to the Town Council for
adoption; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Danville approves the Montair
School/Park Master Plan and approves a Negative Declaration of Environmental
Significance and hereby authorizes staff to submit the Master Plan to the State for final
approval.

NAME OF PROJECT:
Montair School Park located at 300 Quinterra Lane,
Danville, Contra Costa County, California.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The existing ball field at Montair Elementary School
will be renovated for the construction of new park
facilities to be shared by Montair Elementary School
and the Town of Danville. The park improvements will
include a new park entry, landscaping, new fencing, a
play area, and a combination ball field and soccer field.
Thirty five parking spaces are available at two existing
school parking lots located on Quinterra Lane.
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS:
None identified. The existing ball field at Montair
Elementary School will be modified to construct park
improvements. This project will not individually or
cumulatively have an adverse impact on fish or wildlife
resources.
MITIGATION MEASURES:
None
DETERMINATION:
The Town has prepared a Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance for this
project. No significant impacts are anticipated to be associated with this project. It has
been determined that this project will have no adverse effects on wildlife resources.
An Initial Study has been prepared by the Planning Division, Town of Danville to evaluate
the potential for adverse environmental impacts. Copies of the Initial Study may be
obtained at the Town offices located at 510 La Gonda Way, Danville, California 94526.
