SUPPORTING MEASURE A, A LOCAL SCHOOL FUNDING MEASURE DESIGNED TO
RAISE FUNDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF EXISTING SCHOOLS AND
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW CLASSROOMS
WHEREAS, the Town Council believes that the education of our children is a vital
investment in the future of our community, and;
WHEREAS, the schools in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District are over-crowded;
and
WHEREAS, an independent commission has recommended the construction of new school
buildings in order to provide classrooms for the children already in our community; and
WHEREAS, many of our school buildings are approaching 30 years of agree and are in
need of rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, local funds are needed to assure the rehabilitation of existing schools and the
construction of new classrooms;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town of Danville endorses
the passage of Measure A, a local school funding measure designed to raise the funds our
schools need to prepare for the future.
APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a meeting held on
February 19, 1991, by the following vote:
AYES: Greenberg, Lane, Ritchey, Schlendorf, Shimansky
