HomeMy WebLinkAbout178-90RESOLUTION NO. 178-90 A Resolution of the Danville Town Council Reaffirming Its Support of the Open Meeting Law (Ralph M. Brown Act) WHEREAS, the Town Council supports and participation in Town decision-making; and encourages public WHEREAS, since Danville's incorporation the Town Council has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing public notice regarding matters before the Town Council; and WHEREAS, the provision of the Ralph M. Brown Act requiring posting of all agendas of local government meetings 72 hours in advance of regular sessions was recently suspended by the State Legislature as a budgetary measure; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council hereby reaffirms its intent to continue adhering to the open meeting law provisions, including providing 72 hours notice of regularly scheduled meeting agendas and providing the opportunity for public comment, as has been customary. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a Regular Meeting held on August 7, 1990 by the following vote: AYES: GREENBERG, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF, SHIMANSKY NOES: NONE ABSTAINED:NONE ABSENT: NONE ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO F~ ClT TTO EY
