HomeMy WebLinkAbout102-90RESOLUTION NO. 102-90 AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATION FOR LSCA TITLE II CONSTRUCTION FUNDS WHEREAS, on February 12, 1990, the Town of Danville submitted a Notice of Intent to the State of California for Library Services Construction Act (LSCA) Title II Construction Funds for the purpose of acquiring partial funding for the building of a new Danville Branch Library; and WHEREAS, the California State Librarian responded on March 2, 1990 with a letter indicating the Danville Library Project was considered competitive and that the Town should submit a formal application by the June 4, 1990 deadline; and WHEREAS, the anticipated total cost of the library project js $5,121,977; and WHEREAS, LSCA Title II Construction Fund requirements include that the local agency match at least 50% of the approved grant, the funds needed to complete the project are available and will be provided and are not contingent on approval by any body not under the control of the applicant jurisdiction, and the project will be diligentlyprosecuted to completion; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville that local funding is available as required by the LSCA Title II regulations and that the Town Manager be authorized to sign and submit an application to the California State Library for LSCA Title II Construction Funds in the amount of $931,977. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at the regular meeting held this 15th day of May, 1990 by the following vote: AYES: GREENBERG, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF, SHIMANSKY NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: 'NONE ABSENT: NONE ~~~ty Cler~ ' / ~<orney ~
