PROHIBITING THROUGH TRAFFIC
BY A TRAFFIC BARRIER
WHEREAS, MAIDEN LANE is currently a through street from its intersection with
CAMEO DRIVE to its intersection with CLYDESDALE/BELGIAN DRIVES; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville's General Plan lists policies aimed at protecting
existing residential areas from the intrusion of disruptive traffic; and,
WHEREAS, the Town has polled the residents of the neighborhoods adjacent to
Maiden Lane to determine the desirability and effectiveness of closing this street to
through traffic, and an open public meeting was held on March 12th to discuss the
matter; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Danville resolves that on the basis
of a traffic and engineering survey, and on the recommendations of our traffic staff,
MAIDEN LANE be closed to through traffic at its intersection with
CLYDESDALE/BELGIAN DRIVES to serve residents and motorists as a dead-end street;
and,
WHEREAS, the traffic control devices at this location will enhance traffic and
pedestrian safety;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Danville that pursuant to Section 21101(0 of the California Vehicle Code, MAIDEN
LANE shall be closed at its intersection with CLYDESDALE/BELGIAN DRIVES.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 1990, by the following
vote:
AYES: GREENBERG, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF, SHIMANSKY

ABSENT: NONE
