Home My WebLink About170-89 TOWN COUNCIL RESOLUTION No. 170-89 A Resolution of the Danville Town Council Granting the Appeal by Shilo Investments to reverse the Planning Commission denial of DP 89-30 Danville Inn Amendment. WHEREAS, DP 87-20 Danville Inn, a 150 room hotel, was approved on appeal by the Town Council on October 19, 1987 with the addition of brick veneer on the facade of the building. WHEREAS, due to financial constraints, Shilo Investments (applicant) requested to remove the brick veneer on the second, third and fourth floors of the Danville Inn project and replace it with two tones of stucco and defer the construction of the second floor solarium to the second phase of the project. WHEREAS, the Design Review Board reviewed the proposed amendment and by majority vote was recommended for approval. WHEREAS, at a public hearing on September 25, 1989 the Planning Commission denied the applicant's request (DP 89-30) to remove the exterior brick material on the project. WHEREAS, at a public hearing on October 18, 1989, the Town Council granted the appeal by the applicant to remove the veneer brick on the second, third and fourth floors of the Danville Inn. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE DANVILLE TOWN COUNCIL GRANTS THE APPEAL BY SHILO INVESTMENTS, REVERSING THE PLANNING COMMISSION DENIAL OF DP 89-30 DANVILLE INN AMENDMENT ON SEPTEMBER 11, 1989, AND MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS IN SUPPORT OF THIS ACTION: 1) DP 89-30 is in keeping with the Goals and Policies of the Danville 2005 General Plan and the zoning ordinance, 3) Proposed modifications do not significantly impact the architectural design of the project, 4) DP 89-30 is consistent with the Town Council's original approval of the project in October of 1987, 5) The project does not pose any negative environmental or fiscal impacts on the Town.
