HomeMy WebLinkAbout150-89 RESOLUTION NO. 150-89 APPROVING NOMINATION OF SOUTHERN PACIFIC DEPOT BUILDING TO THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Depot Building, located at 355 Railroad Avenue, Danville, California was constructed in 1891 in connection with the establishment of the San Ramon Branch Line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company; and WHEREAS, the Depot is the only depot structure on such branch line to survive with a high degree of its architectural integrity intact; and WHEREAS, the Depot is listed as property No. 1 on the Town of Danville Survey of Historic Structures; and WHEREAS, the Heritage Resource Commission has reviewed the Depot's nomination to the National Register of Historic Places and has recommended that the Danville Town Council approve the filing of such nomination with the State Historic Preservation Office; and WHEREAS, staff has suggested certain amendments to Section 10 of such nomination form; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town'of Danville, that the nomination of the Southern Pacific Depot Building to the National Register of Historic Places is hereby approved as amended pursuant to staff suggestion and staff is instructed to file such nomination with the State Historic Preservation Office. APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a Regular Meeting held on Monday, September 18, 1989, by the following vote: AYES: GREENBERG, JAGGER, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF NOES: NONE ABSTAINED: NONE ABSENT: NONE MAYOR ATTEST: APPROVED AS ~M' ~ITY ~CLERK ~TY ATTORNEY
