RESOLUTION NO. 10-89
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE
ADOPTING THE DRAFT TOWNWIDE TRAILS MASTER PLAN
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Danville, California,
that
WHEREAS, in March 1988, Royston, Hanamoto, Alley & Abey were
contracted by the Town of Danville to prepare a Townwide Trails
Master Plan;
WHEREAS, a Community Task Force was formed to work in concert with
staff and the consultant in developing the Master Plan;
WHEREAS, three community meetings were held for public comment on
the plan on April 5th, May 12th and May 24th, 1988.
WHEREAS, the Parks and Leisure Services Commission held two public
meetings on November 8, 1988 and November 22, 1988 when the
proposed Townwide Trails Master Plan was presented by the
consultants after which the public was invited to comment on the
plan;
WHEREAs, the Master Plan identifies the following:
· Goals and Policies
. Description of the Trail Plan
· Reaches of San Ramon, Green Valley, and Sycamore Valley
Creeks
. Townwide Bicycle Plan
· Design Guidelines
. Implementation
WHEREAS, the construction cost estimate provided by the planning
consultants is $1,525,126 which includes design fees (10%) and
contingencies (15%)· The estimate does not include the following:
1. Acquisition of land
2. Easement fees
3. San Ramon Creek Trail
4. Green Valley Creek Trail east of Diablo Road
5. Trails along Camino Tassajara east of Wood Ranch Road and along
Crow Canyon Road
6. Open space trails
7. Sections of Iron Horse Trail not yet built
8. Bicycle lanes and routes
WHEREAS, on November 22, 1988 the Parks and Leisure Services
Commission recommended adoption of the Townwide Trails Master
Plan.

WHEREAS, on January 19, 1989, Town staff recommended adoption of
the Draft Townwide Trails Master Plan with the following
conditions:
1. Delete section of creekside trail along San Ramon Creek from
Laurel Drive to 1-680.
2. Delete section of creekside trail along San Ramon Creek from E1
Cerro Boulevard to E1 Portal.
3. Modify the staging area on Old Blackhawk Road to remove
equestrian designation; change designation to general staging
area.
4. Identify new equestrian area to be north of Old Blackhawk Road
staging area.
5. Add the words "proposed EBRPD" to the map description of that
section ofthe trail west of Midland Drive.
WHEREAS, City Clerk duly noticed the Public Hearing on
January 11, 1989.
WHEREAS, this project has been reviewed in accordance with the
provisions of the California Environmental Qaulity Act and a
Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance has been adopted
(Town Council Resolution No. 11-89) for this project, as it will
have no significant effect on the environment; and there is a land
use change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council adopt the
Townwide Trails Master Plan with the conditions recommended by
staff.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 19th of January, 1989, by the
following vote:
AYES: GREENBERG, JAGGER, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: NONE
