BEFORE THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE
Endorsing the Regional )
Open Space, Wildlife ) RESOLUTION NO. 114 -88
Shoreline and Parks Bond )
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville supports the preservation of
California's unique and irreplaceable natural environment; and
WHEREAS, the East Bay Regional Park District comprises
63,000 acres including 46 parks and 13 regional inter -park
trails in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, serving nearly 10%
of California's population; and
WHEREAS, the East Bay Regional Park District is
proposing a bond issue to provide $225 million to permanently
preserve open space, wildlife, shoreline and parklands
throughout the East Bay; and
WHEREAS, the bond revenues will enable the East Bay Regional
Park District to achieve the goals of its Master Plan for open
space preservation, wildlife protection, and recreational use;
while assisting local agencies with their parkland and
recreation needs, for the benefit of the entire region; and
WHEREAS, the initiative is supported by conservation and
wildlife organizations and local civic and business groups.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Danville Town
Council hereby endorses the Open Space, Wildlife, Shoreline and
Parks Bond.
ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville on
October 24, 1988, by the following vote:
AYES: JAGGER, GREENBERG, LANE, RITCHEY, SCHLENDORF
