HomeMy WebLinkAbout066-88 RESOLUTION NUMBER 66-88 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE AMENDING THE ENGINEER'S REPORT FOR DANVILLE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 1985-1 AND ALLOCATING FUNDS TO THE TASSAJARA PARK SITE Whereas, the provisions of the Sycamore Valley Assessment District (Danville 1985-1) set aside $2,200,000 from the proceeds of the sale of bonds to acquire and develop a twenty acre community park, Whereas, the Town of Danville accepted responsibility for acquisition and development of that park site, Whereas, the Engineer's Report identified a prospective park site at the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Sycamore Valley Road, Whereas, the Town of Danville has been unable to acquire that site for a price which would allow its development from the proceeds of the bond sale, Whereas, the Town of Danville has acquired another park site within the boundaries of the Sycamore Valley Assessment District (Danville 1985-1) at a cost $1,800,000 of Town funds, and Whereas, the site now owned by the Town is superior to the site at Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Tassajara, adjoins over 500 acres of open space and a school site, and will provide a greater number of park facilities for District residents; Now, therefore, the Town Council of the Town of Danville resolves that: the District Engineer's Report is amended to identify the park site to be developed with bond sale proceeds as 2655 Camino Tassajara and adjoining properties, the proceeds of the bond sale plus interest earnings set aside for park acquisition and development are allocated to the design and development of a community park at 2655 Camino Tassajara and adjoining properties, the reallocation of the park funds does not increase assessments, reduce benefits, nor distort the benefit relationships among the parcels within the district, and staff is directed to proceed with planning and development of the Tassajara park site according to Town policies. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 1988 by the following vote: AYES: Greenberg, Jagger, Lane, Ritehey, Sehlendorf NOES: None ABSENT: None
