HomeMy WebLinkAbout038-87RESOLUTION NO. 38-87 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE PROPOSING THAT THE SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD PARK 'N RIDE FACILITY BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE PROPOSED 1-680 WIDENING PROJECT WHEREAS, CALTRANS is proposing to widen 1-680 to accommodate high occupancy vehicle lanes in the vicinity of the Town of Danville; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville will realize a decrease in air quality due to increased traffic on 1-680; and WHEREAS, high occupancy vehicle lanes, with restricted use, based on vehicle occupancy, create a need for Park 'n Ride facilities; and WHEREAS, Park 'n Ride facilities in conjunction with high occupancy vehicle lanes will have a beneficial effect on air quality; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville supports the construction of a Park 'n Ride facility in the vicinity of Sycamore Valley Road in conjunction with the 1-680 widening project· NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows: lo The Town of Danville is willing and committed to join with CALTRANS in establishing a Park 'n Ride project at 1-680 and Sycamore Valley Road. · The city Engineer is authorized to coordinate with CALTRANS to combine the Park 'n Ride project at 1-680 widening project· · The Town will set aside funds in its 1987-92 Capital Improvement Program to provide right-of-way for the Park 'n Ride project with the following conditions: a· That funds are also available for purchase of the Park 'n Ride project right-of-way from other agencies such as BART, and the Contra Costa County Transit Authority; and be That CALTRANS participate at least 50% in the total cost of the project (including land costs), and C, That CALTRANS construct the Park 'n Ride improvements in conjunction with the freeway widening after joint review of the Park 'n Ride project.
