A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Danville
Initiating Proceedings for the Annexation of
Sycamore Valley Specific Plan Area Parcels
to the Lighting and Landscape Assessment District 1983-1
WHEREAS, by its Resolution No. 72-83, this City Council ordered
the formation of and levied the first assessment within the
Danville Street Lighting and Landscape Assessment District
1983-1, (the "District") pursuant to the provisions of the
Landscaping and Lighting act of 1972; and
WHEREAS, the requirements of the Sycamore Valley Specific Plan
call for installation of street lighting and right of way
landscaping in residential developments proposed for
construction in that area; and
WHEREAS, the District is available to maintain those
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the city of
Danville hereby proposes and initiate proceedings for the
annexation as a separate benefit zone of all parcels within the
Sycamore Valley Specific Plan area to the Danville Street
Lighting and Landscape Assessment District No. 1983-1.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the improvements of the assessment
district shall consist of the maintenance or servicing or both
of existing and future public facilities.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Manager is authorized to
negotiate and award a contract for services of an engineer for
the proposed assessment district, and orders such engineer to
prepare and file a report in accordance with Article 4
(beginning with Streets and Highways Code Section 22565) of
Chapter 1 of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that $15,000 is allocated for this purpose
from unallocated General Fund for the engineering cost of the
assessment district, and the amount shall be reimbursed back to
General Fund.
