A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Danville
Amending Resolution No. 131-83
Pertaining to the Rules for the Conduct of
City Council Meetings
The City Council RESOLVES to amend Resolution No. 131-83 as
follows:
(1) Item 3 - Agenda. In order to facilitate the orderly conduct
of the business of the Council, the City Clerk shall be notified
no later than 5 p.m. of the Tuesday immediately preceeding a
regular Council meeting of all reports, communications,
ordinances, resolutions, contract documents or other matters to
be submitted to the City Council at such a meeting...
(2) Item 8 - Order of Business. Promptly at the hour set on the
day of each regular meeting, the members of the Council, City
Clerk and City Manager shall take their regular stations in the
Council Chambers and the business of the Council shall be taken
up for consideration and disposition in the following order
except that upon the unanimous consent of this City Council,
matters may be taken up out of order:
1. Call to Order
2. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and Invocation
3. Changes to the Order of the Agenda
4. Consent Calendar
5. For the Good of the Town
6. Presentations and Communications
7. Council Reports
8. Public Hearings
9. Administrative Staff Reports
10. Adjournment
(3) Item 7 - Quorum. A regular meeting shall stop at 11:00 p.m.
unless the Council votes by a simple majority to extend it.

(4) Item 11 - (a) Written communications. Such written
communications shall be delivered to the City Clerk no later
than 5 p.m. of the Tuesday immediately preceeding the regular
City Council meeting for which the written communication is
intended.

Establishing Rules for the Conduct of City Council Business Meetings
The City Council RESOLVES to amend Resolution No. 10-82 as follows:

the business of the Council, the City Clerk shall be notified
no later than 5 p.m. of the Tuesday immediately preceeding a
regular Council meeting of all reports, communications, ordinances,
resolutions, contract documents or other matters to be submitted
