RESOLUTION NO. 4 -85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE
ESTABLISHING A CONTROL POINT SALARY RANGE PLAN FOR VARIOUS
CLASSES OF EMPLOYEES
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMPENSATE EMPLOYEES
WITHIN THE ESTABLISHED RANGES

WHEREAS, the City of Danville is served by employees performing
a variety of tasks and exercising various levels of
responsibilty; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to compensate its employees in
a fashion that recognizes the market value of jobs, maintains
reasonable relationships among various job types, and
acknowledges different levels of work responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to maintain a direct
relationship between performance and compensation; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has reported to the Council the
results of a salary survey and has made recommedations regarding
implementation of salary ranges;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE HEREBY
DOES RESOLVE THAT:
1. The following "control points" are established for various
job classes:
GENERAL OFFICE SUPORT GROUP
Office Assistant $1,456 monthly
Secretary I 1,602 monthly
Secretary II 1,762 monthly
Administrative Secretary 1,938 monthly
PLANNING GROUP
Planning Technician
Assistant Planner
Associate Planner
Senior Planner

ENGINEERING AND INSPECTION GROUP
Engineering Technician 2,256 monthly
Assistant Engineer 2,482 monthly

2. The City Manager is authorized to compensate employees in
each job class not less than 20% below nor more than 10% above
the control points established above for each class in
accordance with merit performance policies established for this
purpose.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1984, by
the following vote:
