A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE
Approval of the Interim Master Property
Tax Exchange Agreement
WHEREAS, State law requires that a property tas exchange
agreement be in force prior to any annexation of property; and,
WHEREAS, properties within the City of Danville receive many
necessary services from special districts; and,
WHEREAS, many properties have not been annexed to the
jurisdictions providing those necessary services; and,
WHEREAS, many Danville property owners desire annexation to
those special districts in timely fashion; and,
WHEREAS, the County of Contra Costa has developed an Interim
Master Property Tax Exchange Agreement to simplify the
annexation process; and,
WHEREAS, participation under the terms of that agreement have
insignificant impact on City finances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County
Auditor-Controller is authorized to apply the terms of the
Interim Property Tax Exchange Agreement to properties within the
City of Danville proposed for annexation;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council reserves the right
to withdraw its authorization and to negotiate on the City's
behalf when it deems such action in the City's best interest.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this November 15, 1984 by
the following vote:
AYES: Lane, May, McNeely, Offenhartz, Schlendorf
NOES: None
