RESOLUTION NO. 67-84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE
Authorizing the Submittal of a Sphere of Influence Application
to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Contra Costa County
~gHE~EAS, the greater Valley area in which Danville is located is experien-
cing considerable physical growth, and
WHEREAS, this growth has caused the Danville City Council to re-evaluate
currently critical needs for insuring well planned and efficient develop-
ment patterns, preserving open space, and planning the most efficient means
for providing public services in Danville and adjacent unincorporated areas
in the future.
WHEREAS, many of the unincorporated areas adjacent to Danville and now
under consideration for development have strong land use, transportation
and general public service delivery requirement, and community of interest
relationships to the existing community of Danville, and
WHEREAS, the Knox-Nisbet Act of 1965 as amended, provides for the esta-
blishment of a Sphere of Influence boundary as a means to help ensure
effe6tive planning for local public services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVE by the City Council of the City of Danville
to submit an application to the Local Agency Formation Commis§ion of
Contra Costa County to establish a Sphere of Influence boundary, such
application being described as Exhibit "A" to this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of July, 1984 by the following
vote:
AYES: Lane, May Mc Neely, 0ffenhartz, Schlendorf
