A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING AN AREA FOR THE UNDERGROUND INSTALLATION
OF UTILITIES AND ORDERING THE REMOVAL OF ABOVEGROUND UTILITIES IN AN AREA
DESIGNATED AS THE SAN RAMON VALLEY BOULEVARD UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Danville has received the recon~nendation
of the Director of Public Works that the area designated in Exhibit "A", attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in Danville, California, should be
designated as an area in which poles, overhead wires and associated overhead
structures should be removed and that underground wires and facilities for
supplying electric con~nunication, or similar or associated service should be
instal led; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 1008-2 of the Contra Costa County Ordinance Code, the
City Clerk notified all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized
assessment roll, and utilities concerned, by mail, of a public hearing on this
matter to be held on May 21, 1984 at San Ramon Valley School District Adminis-
tration Building, Old Orchard Road and Sycamore Valley Boulevard, at 7:30 pan.;
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said date, at which time the City Council
did receive and consider the reco~raendation of the Public Works Director and did
hear any and all objections or protests which were raised by the owners of
property within the above described area pertaining to designating this area an
underground utility district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Danville City Council of behalf of all
Danville Citizens does hereby resolve: Section 1. The public necessity, health,
safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and underground installation of wires and facilities for
supplying electric, con~nunication, or similar or associated services within the
area as shown in Exhibit "A", attached hereto, with such area hereby being
designated as the San Ramon Valley Boulevard Underground Utility District.
Section 2. Determines the the undergrounding of utilities as provided in Section
1 wil 1 avoid or eliminate an unusual ly heavy ¢onoentration of overhead

distribution facilities. Section 3. Orders that the removal and underground
installation fo the above mentioned utilities be accomplished by Dec~nber 1, 1984,
and that all property owners within said District shall be ready to receive
underground service from such underground system as of October 1, 1984.
Section 4. Directs the City Clerk to mail a copy of this Resolution to all
affected property owners as such are shown on the last equalized assessnent roll
and to the affected utilities. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective
in~nediately upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Danville this 21st
day of May, 1984 by the following vote:
AYES: Lane, May, McNeely, Offenhartz, Schlendorf
