RESOLUTION NO. 23-84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE
Approving The Application For An Environmental License
Plate Fund Grant For the Baldwin School Park Project
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have established the
Environmental License Plate Fund, which provides funds to the State of
California and its political subdivisions for public recreation; and
WHEREAS, State funds have been made available through the efforts of
Assemblyman William Baker; and
WHEREAS, the City of Danville wishes to improve recreational
opportunities for its residents, increase public use of publicly owned
facilities, and enhance the beauty of the community; and
WHEREAS, John Baldwin School is an ideal pilot site for City-school
cooperation because of that site's importance to community recreation
groups; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program
within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks
and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the
approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to
the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must
comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement with the
State of California for the development of the project;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Danville approves the
filing of an application Environmental License Plate Fund grant
assistance for Baldwin School Park project. Certifies that said
agency understands the assurances and certification in the
application. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient
funds to operate and maintain the project. Certifies that said agency
has reviewed and understands the General Provisions contained in the
state/local agreement. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the city
to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments,
payment requests, and so on which may be necessary for the completion
of the aforementioned project.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 19th day of March, 1984 with the
following vote:
AYES: Lane, May, Mc Neely, Offenhartz, Schlendorf
