HomeMy WebLinkAbout074-83 RESOLUTION NO. 74-83 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE Approving the Transfer of a License to Operate a Community Antenna Tele- vision Service from Cablevision of Contra Costa County (ATC) to Televents, Incorporated City ordinances require the City of Danville's approval of licenses to operate community antenna television services (CATV) in the City, and CATV services are currently provided in the City by ATC pursuant to a license originally granted by the County prior to incorporation, and Televents, Inc. and ATC have entered into a business arrangement for Televents to acquire the holdings of ATC in Danville, and Televents, Inc. has formally requested that the existing ATC license, which is due to expire in October, 1986, be transferred to Televents, Inc., and It is in the best interest of Danville residents to grant the license transfer in order to insure a continuation of this important service. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that: The City Council of the City of Danville approves the transfer of the existing CATV license from Cablevision of Contra Costa to Televents, Inc. subject to the following conditions: 1. The performance bond acquired under the applicable ordinance be increased from $5,000 to $50,000; 2. Effective from the date of transfer of the license, the franchise fee to the City of Danville shall be increased from 2% to 3%~ --1-- 3. Televents, Inc. shall continue to provide through the end of September, 1986, not less than the minimum level of cabletelevision services now being provided by Cablevision of Contra Costa County.
