HomeMy WebLinkAbout063-83 BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE In the Matter of: ) ) RESOLUTION NO. 63-83 Intention to Form Danville ) Street Lighting and Landscape ) Assessment District 1983-1 ) ) The City Council of the City of Danville RESOLVES that: On April 18, 1983, by Resolution No. 26-83, this Council: 1) approved the recommendation of the City Manager that the Council consider the initiation of an assessment district for street lighting and landscaping under the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972; 2) authorized the appointment of Leptien-Cronin- Cooper, Inc., as Engineer for the proposed assessment district; and 3) initiated proceedings for the formation of Danville Street Lighting and Landscape Assessment District 1983-1 and ordered the Engineer to prepare and file a report in accordance with Article 4 of Chapter 1 of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. On June 20 , 1983, this Council considered and approved the Engineer's report as filed with the Clerk of this Council. This Council hereby declares its intention to order the formation of Danville Street Lighting and LandscaDe Assessment District 1983-1, and to levy and collect -1- assessments pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. The improvements are generally described as the installation of landscaping, public lighting facilities and facilities appurtenant thereto or which are necessary or convenient for their maintenance or servicing, and the maintenance and servicing of the foregoing. The proposed assessment district, to be designated as "Danville Street Lighting and Landscape Assessment District 1983-1" consists of those portions of the former county services areas of L-42, M-6, M-21 and M-22 which lie within the incorporated boundaries of the City of Danville except as modified to include recently subdivided lands having public lighting facilities. The report of the Engineer which is on file with the City Clerk contains a full and detailed description of the improvements, the boundaries of the assessment district and any zones within it, and the proposed assessments upon assessable lots and parcels of land within the district. The proposed improvements for the 1983-84 fiscal year are limited to the servicing or maintenance, or both of existing street lighting facilities. No substantial improvements are proposed for the 1983-84 fiscal year. This Council will hold a hearing on July 18, 1983, at 7:30 p.m., at 699 Old Orchard Road, Danville, California, on the question of the formation of the assessment district -2- and the levy of the proposed assessment. The City Clerk is directed to give notice of the hearing pursuant to section 6061 of the Government Code and sections 22553, 22556 and 22588 of the Streets and Highways Code.
