RESOLUTION ~D. 22-83
RECOGNIZING AND HONORING FRIA~NDS OF DISQOVERY
WHEREAS, the Friends of Discovery are beginning their 10th year
of service in the San Ramon Valley; and
¥,~5KREAS, the goal of the Friends of Discovery is to aid children
and families with problems; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of Discovery have raised and disbursed sc~e
$500,000.00 over the past ten years to aid Children and families to help
overccme problems; and
~, this money has been raised through the efforts of loyal
and dedicated volunteers, who give freely of themselves, work long hard
hours and receive no pay; and
~3~J%S these volunteers have created a warm and visible image
in Danville through their constant care for people; and
WHEREAS these volunteers also show their concern through their
constant changing of their thrift shop window to reflect various seasons
and holidays,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council
does cc~nend and congratulate the Friends of Discovery for their hard work,
dedication and community spirit, and wishes them well for many future years
of service.
