HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-55EXHIBIT A RESOLUTION NO. 91-55 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE AMENDING SR 90-17 AND APPROVING SR 91-26 SIGN EXCEPTION WHERF~S, Bank of America has requested approval of a sign request for modification of two existing signs and addition of a monument sign to be located at the corner of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road; and WHEREAS, the subject site is located at the Tassajara Crossings Shopping Center at the southeast corner of the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road and is identified as Assessor's Parcel Number 206-010-022; and WHERF~S, SR 90-17 was reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission establishing a sign program for the center; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville zoning code requires a Sign Permit for modification of an existing sign and a Sign Exception for three identification signs on one project; and WHERF~S, the Planning Commission did review the project at a noticed public hearing on November 26, 1991; and WHEREAS, the public notice of this action was given in all respects as required by law; and WHEREAS, a staff report was submitted recommending that Planning Commission approve the request; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hear and consider all reports, recommendations, and testimony submitted in writing and presented at the hearing; Page No. 1 Resolution No. 91-55 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Planning Commission of the Town of Danville approves SR 91-26 and a Sign exception per the conditions and findings contained in Attachment A. APPROVED by the Danville Planning Commission at a Regular Meeting on November 26, 1991 by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAINED: Americh, Hughes, Murphy, Hunt Osborn Wright APPROVED AS TO FORM: /~ity Attorney pcmcml4 CKief of Pl~g Page No. 2 Resolution No. 91-55 ATTACHMENT A SR 91-26 and Sign Exception -- Tassajara Crossings Shopping Center Sign Review Request Findings and Conditions FINDINGS: The signage is consistent in character with the Town's commercial design guidelines, is compatible with project architecture and the sign program of the center, and is no larger than necessary for adequate identification. 2. The signage will serve primarily to identify the shopping center. 3. The signage will not excessively compete for the public's attention. The signage will be harmonious with the materials, color, texture, size, shape, height, location, design and in proportion with the architectural style of the shopping center, property or environment of which they are a part. o The design of the signage will be consistent with professional graphic and structural standards. o Signage illumination will be at the lowest level consistent with adequate identification and readability. CONDITIONS: Except as may be modified by the conditions contained herein, signage authorized by this permit shall be substantially as shown on the plans labeled "Tassajara Crossings Shopping Center", as prepared by Garcia and Wagnor and Associates, dated received by the Planning Division on November 21, 1991. 0 Prior to installation of the signage, the applicant shall obtain a building permit from the Town of Danville Building Division. If the sign is illuminated, the applicant shall obtain an electrical permit from the Town Building Division. Prior to issuance of a building permit, a color board showing all of the proposed colors for the sign shall be submitted for review and approval by the Planning Division. Specifically, the background color of all three signs shall be a limestone color that is compatible with the stone wall. All newly installed lighting for the signs shall be ground mounted and the light source screened from view by the public. All light fixtures shall be reviewed and approved by the Planning Division prior to issuance of a building permit for the signs. pcmcm14
