RESOLUTION NO. 91-49
A RESOLUTION OF THE PIANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF DANVILI.~.
RECOMMENDING TOWN COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE DEVELOPMENT
CRITERIA FOR CHILD CARE FACILITIES
WHEREAS, acquiring quality child care, e~ectively located and dispersed throughout the
Town has been identified as a goal in Dahville; and
WHERFAS, a policy addressing Development Criteria for Child Care Facilities has been
developed pursuant to a directive in the Child Care Work Program approved by the Town
Council in January, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the policy provides for orderly development of child care facilities to integrate
said. _facilities into the adjacent surroundings; and
WHEREAS, the planning Commission did review the policy and accompanying staff report
at a noticed Planning Commission meeting on October 22, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the public notice of this action was given in all respects as required by law;
and
WHE~, a determination has been made that the Development Criteria for Child Care
Facilities is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act based on the determination that this is not classified as a "project~'; and
WHEREAS, a staff report was submitted recommending that Planning Commission
recommend Town Council approval of the request; and
WHE~, the Planning Commission did hear and consider all reports,
recommendations, and testimony submitted in writing and presented at the hearing; now
therefore, be it
RESOLVED THAT the Planning Commission of the Town of Danville recommends the
Town Council approve the Development Criteria fo? Child Care Facilities Policy contained
in Attachment A, and makes the following findings in support of the proposed Policy:
The proposed Policy is consistent with the intent of the General Plan as outlined
in Policies 7.11, 7.12, and 7.13 contained on page 64 of the Danville 2005 General
Plan; and
2. The proposed Policy is consistent with the intent and requirements of the zoning
districts in which child care facilities are conditionally allowed with the issuance
of a Land Use Permit; and
3. The proposed Policy will provide direction to prospective applicants; and
4. The proposed Policy will provide for orderly development within the Community;
and
5. The proposed Policy is consistent with the regulations of the State Department of
Community Care Licensing.
APPROVED by the Danville Planning Commission at a Regular Meeting on October 22,
1991 by the following vote:
AYES: Arenich, Hughes, Murphy, Osbom, Wright, Hunt
