A RESOLUTION
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE
APPROVING SIGN REVIEW REQUEST SR 90-2

WHERF~S, Jerry Hettinger has requested approval of a Sign Program for J.
Hettinger Plaza, and
WHEREAS, the subject site is located on the 101 Linda Mesa Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did review the project at a noticed public
hearing on February 13, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the proper notice of this request was given in all respects as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, a staff report was submitted recommending that Planning Commission
approve the request; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hear and consider all reports,
recommendations, and testimony submitted in writing and presented at the hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Planning Commission of the Town of
Danville approves the Sign Review request SR 90-2, per the conditions contained herein,
and makes the following findings in support of the sign program:
The proposed signage is compatible with character and design of the exterior
architecture and existing signage on the structure on which it is proposed to be
located.
The location of the proposed signage will not impair the use of the property or
conflict with visibility.

The proposed signage will not adversely effect the health, or safety of persons
residing or working in the vicinity, or be injurious to property, or improvements
in the area.
The proposed signage does not excessively compete for the public's attention nor
impact the use of the property or conflict with visibility.
5. The proposed signage is no larger than necessary for adequate identification.
The proposed signage will serve to primarily identify the business established or
type of activity conducted on the premises.
CONDITIONS
The signage shall be installed in full conformance with the plans dated received
January 2, 1990, and February 8, 1990 (monument sign) on file with the Danville
Planning Department, consisting of 2 full sized sheets and 4 8 1/2 x 11 sized

sheets.
Structural sign materials and colors of the monument sign shall match the
materials and colors of the primary building.
No signs shall be internally illuminated. Any indirect lighting shall screen the
source of light from view of any public street and shall be installed in such a
manner that glare is directed away from surrounding properties and right-of-
ways. Details of said lighting, if proposed, shall be subject to review and
approval by the Planning Department prior to installation.
The final material selection for the wall sign and the final design of the
monument sign shall be subject to review and approval by the Design review
Board prior to installation.

Landscaping shall be installed around the monument sign and shall be subject
to review and approval by the Planning Department.
The monument sign and landscaping around it shall not block the sight triangle
at the corner of the site.
The height of the monument sign shall not exceed 6 1/2 feet above the sidewalk
grade.
