ADDING SECTION 12 -5.13 TO THE
DANVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REQUIRING
BLINDERS FOR NEWSRACK DISPLAYS OF
MATERIAL HARMFUL TO MINORS
The Danville Town Council does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. ADDING SECTION 12 -5.13 TO THE DANVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE.
Section 12 -5.13 is hereby added to the Danville Municipal Code to read as follows:
(a) 12 -5.13 Display of Material Harmful to Minors. No material which is harmful
to minors, as defined in Section 313 of the California Penal Code, shall be
displayed in a public place, other than a public place from which minors are
excluded, unless blinder racks are placed in front of the material so that the lower
two- thirds (2/3) of the material is not exposed to view.
SECTION 2. CODIFICATION. Section 1 of this ordinance shall be codified in the
Danville Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. The City Clerk shall have
this ordinance published once. within 15 (fifteen) days after adoption in a newspaper of
general circulation. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after adoption.
The foregoing Ordinance was introduced on October 17, 2000 and approved and adopted by
the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting held on November 8, 2000, by the following
vote:
AYES: Greenberg, Doyle, Arnerich, Shimansky, Waldo
