AMENDING THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE
DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
TO EXTEND THE EFFECTIVE TERM OF THE PLAN
The Danville Town Council does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. FINDINGS.
The Town Council of the Town of Danville adopted Ordinance No. 94 on July 14, 1986,
approving and adopting the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Redevelopment
Project (the "Plan"). Section 800 of the Plan provides that the effective term of the Plan
shall be 35 years from the date of adoption.
2. Section 33333.6(b) of the Community Redevelopment Law allows a maximum effective
term of 40 years for redevelopment plans.
In 1998, the California Legislature enacted AB 1342, allowing a one-year period for city
councils to amend their redevelopment plans to extend effective terms to the maximum
allowed by law by adoption of an ordinance.
The Town Council of the Town of Danville desires to extend the effective term of the
Town's Plan to the maximum period of 40 years in order to allow the Town and the
Danville Community Development Agency to more fully achieve the goals of the Plan.
SECTION 2. REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AMENDED.
Section 800 of the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Redevelopment Project is hereby
amended to provide that the effective term of the Plan shall be forty (40) years from the date
the Plan was first adopted by the Town Council. Except as provided herein, Ordinance No.
94 and Ordinance No. 94-23 are continued in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. CODIFICATION.
This ordinance shall not be codi~ed in the Danville Municipal Code.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. The City Clerk shall have
this ordinance published in a newspaper of general circulation within fifteen (15) days after
adoption. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after adoption.
The foregoing Ordinance was introduced on April 20, 1999 and approved and adopted by the
Danville Town Council at a regular meeting held on May 4, 1999, by the following vote:
