Chapter 82-16 (Off-Street Parking), Section 82-16.018, Number of Required Spaces, of the County Ordinance Code (as adopted by the Town by reference) is amended by modifying item (12) to read as follows: "82-16.018 Number of required spaces. Off-street parking shall be provided for each land use on the basis of the following schedules: (1) Hotels and motels: Once space for each sleeping unit; (2) Hospital: One space for each two beds; (3) Sanitariums, convalescent homes, rest homes, nursing homes: One space for each three beds; (4) Churches: One space for each three seats; (5) Bowling alleys: Seven spaces for each alley, plus one space for each two employees; (6) Rooming and lodging houses: One space for each bedroom; (7) Theatres: One space for each four seats; (8) Sports arenas: One space for each four seats; (9) Auditoriums: One space for each four seats; (10) Night clubs, cocktail lounges and restaurants; One space for each three seats; (11) Medical and dental offices: Five spaces for each doctor or dentist; (12) Banks; business and professional offices, other than medical and dental offices: One space for each ~99 225 feet of gross floor area; (13) Retail stores and shops, except as otherwise specified herein: One space for each two hundred fifty square feet of gross floor area; (14) Commercial service, repair shops and wholesale establishments: One space for each five hundred square feet of floor area; (15) Retail stores which handle only bulky merchandise, such as furniture, household appliances, and motor vehicles: One space for each five hundred square feet of floor area; (16) Warehouses and other storage buildings: One space for each one thousand square feet of gross floor area; (17) Mortuaries: One space for each fifty square feet of gross floor area in chapel areas; (18) Assembly halls without fixed seats: One space for each forty square feet of gross floor area; (19) Retail and wholesale establishments conducted primarily outside of buildings: One space for each two employees; (20) For a use not specified in this section, the same number of off-street parking spaces shall be provided as are required for the most similar specified use." SECTION 2. Subsection (1) of section 82-16.012, Design and Layout, of Chapter 82-16 (Off-Street Parking) is amended to read: "82-16.012. Design and Layout. A non-residential use may have (30%) of the total required parking in compact parkinq stalls. A compact stall shall be at least eight by sixteen feet (8' x 16') in size including allowable overhanq and shall be marked with standard pavement markings." SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance becomes effective 30 days after adoption. SECTION 4. Publication. The Town Clerk shall either a) have this ordinance published once within fifteen days after adoption in a newspaper of general circulation or b) have a summary of this ordinance published twice in a newspaper of general circulation once five days before its adoption and again within fifteen days after adoption. The foregoing ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a meeting held on May 4 , 1987, and was adopted and ordered published at a meeting held on May 1987, by the following vote: AYES: Kennett, Lane, McNeely, 0ffenhartz, Schlend0rf NoES: None ABSENT: None MAYOR __~ ATTEST: TOWN
