HomeMy WebLinkAbout113-87% EXHIBIT B BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DANVILLE In the Matter of: Establishing an Interim ) ORDINANCE NO. 113 Downtown Parking Management ) Plan and Providing for the ) Creation of a Downtown ) Parking Management Plan ) ) ) The Town Council of the Town of Danville DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 8, entitled Parking, is added to Title 8 of the Danville Municipal Code to read as follows: "Chapter 8 Parking" Article 1. Downtown Parking Management Plan Section 8-801 Purpose and Intent Section 8-802 Establishment of Downtown Parking Management Zone Section 8-801. Purpose and Intent. In January, 1985, the Town Council initiated a Downtown Master Plan program resulting in the adoption of General Plan Amendment (GPA) 86-3, an amendment to the General Plan for the Downtown Area, on November 17, 1986 GPA 86-3 describes the boundaries of the Downtown Area and proposes that it be divided into 9 land use districts in order to accommodate the mix of uses desired and to guide new development to proposed land use districts are delineated on the maps attached as Appendix "A" and made a part by this reference. While the staff is preparing to initiate land use regulations consistent with the GPA for the Downtown Area, testimony during the general plan amendment hearings identified specific actions which need to be implemented before comprehensive rezoning for pending downtown rezoning applications and (2) modify existing parking standards pending the completion of a study to establish permanent land use regulations for the Downtown Area. PAGE 1 ORDINANCE NO. 113 The purpose of this chapter is to implement interim parking standards for land uses within the boundaries of the Downtown Area through the establishment of a Downtown Parking Management Zone. Section 8-802. Establishment of Downtown Parkinq Manaqement Zone. (a) Creation of Zone. A Downtown Parking Management Plan is established. The Zone consists of that area comprising the Downtown Area and is described in Appendix "A". (b) Adoption of Policies and Regulations. The Council shall, by resolution, adopt policies and regulations it considers necessary to implement interim parking standards consistent with GPA 86-3 pending the adoption of comprehensive land use regulations." SECTION 2. Effective Date. This ordinance becomes effective 30 days after its adoption. SECTION 3. Publication. The City Clerk shall either a) have this ordinance published once within 15 days after adoption in a newspaper of general circulation, once five days before its adoption and again within 15 days after adoption.
